Kenji IMAMURA
Winegrower
Fondateur de kurayoshi Winery, a quitté son travail à Tokyo pour s'installer dans la prefecture de Tottori et développer le vin des sables.

At our vineyard in Hokuei City, Tottori Prefecture, we carry out every step of the process of making our 100% local wine, from cultivation to harvesting. Winemaking and bottling are done in our facility located in the historic Kurayoshi craftsman district.
This wine has the particularity to be issued from a natural soil composed of sand. At the foot of Mount Daisen and Hiruzen, and on the shore of the Sea of Japan, the wine benefits from a unique climate which, in addition to the composition of its soil, gives it such a particular taste.
The seaside region of Kurayoshi, Hokuei and Yurihama cities was declared a special wine-making zone (PGI for wines) in 2018 strengthening the requirements and guarantee of quality local wine production.
In our winery, we make Japanese wine from grapes grown on our small 1.5 hectare vineyard. In order for more people to enjoy Tottori Sand Wine in the future, we would like to expand our estate and help motivated growers and winemakers to produce their own wine.
